Acacia Mining Operations Inc.

The largest copper reserve found by the private sector in the history of the Turkish Republic.

Asya Mining Enterprises Inc., which was acquired by İlbak Mining Industry and Trade Inc. in 2011, continues its operations as Acacia Mining Operations Inc. in Kastamonu as a result of its partnership with Akfen Engineering Inc. in 2016. Acacia Mining Operations produces enriched copper concentrate. Acacia Mining Operations is a joint venture between İlbak Holding, Akfen Holding, and İzbir companies and produces enriched copper concentrate.

Acacia Mining Operations Inc. operates at international standards with its expert staff, continually updates its infrastructure to utilize the natural resources of our country in the most efficient way, and develops its reserves  according to the JORC standard with an environmentally sustainable mining approach.

It also performs its mining activities in compliance with national legislation and IFC/World Bank standards.

In 2007, 86,000 meters of drilling were carried out and 12,000 samples were analyzed and evaluated within the scope of project development activities in accordance with international standards. In 2017, approximately 24 million tons of 1.5% copper ore reserves were identified in the Gökırmak Copper Mine. An investment decision was taken to produce approximately 120 thousand tons of copper concentrate containing 22% copper annually for 12 years from the open pit.

Acacia Mining Operations' Contribution to the National Economy

Acacia Mining Operations Inc., aiming to make a significant contribution to the Turkish economy by reducing dependence on foreign copper, has achieved its export targets. According to the TİM 2023 report, it is:

• Ranked 1st in copper exports
• Ranked 2nd in total mineral exports

Acacia Mining Operations Inc. was ranked 112th among the top 1000 companies by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) with its export totals in 2023.

Acacia Mining Operations' Contribution to Sustainability

In relationship to sustainability, Acacia Maden engages in various activities to achieve its goal of becoming an environmentally friendly company.In this context, its Community Development Projects were awarded the "Most Environmentally Friendly Technology Investment of the Year" by the International Environment and Communication Association.

• Emission measurements are made regularly and confirmation measurements are carried out every two years.

• We have a temporary storage area for hazardous waste and waste is sent to licensed companies.
